With the release of the expansion only a few days away people should start thinking about what their plans and goals are for the next release.
Are you going to stay on your current toon and keep it as your main? will you switch to a death knight as your main?
For those that haven't paid attention to the forums, the ranks for raiding are going to be reset when the expansion releases. This means you can change your main or your spec as you want.
BUT, along with that comes a few other changes.
Mostly, competition for a raiding position.
Yep, gone are the lack ass days of requiring 5 resto shaman or 4 CoH priests and such. Enter the day of people actually being required to play well or be replaced because it's here.
I'm not expecting everyone to rush to 80, many people enjoy the questing and leveling aspect just as much as the raiding, but there will be a group pushing 80 and raiding as soon as they can. This group, will most likely be doing Nax 10man before others are even done installing the game.
No worries, no rush. When people hit raiding capability and we start pushing 25's for progression, that's when people will need to put their ass in gear and actually play. If you show up, plan on doing your job and knowing what to do. People won't be hand-held thru stuff anymore. If you can't take the time to read up on the instance/fight/etc then you probably don't need to be going for progression.
Progression will take a front seat to a lot of things, which means the people that actually are prepared and want to progress will be the ones in the RR2 group. RR1 will still be there, pushing instances and raiding as always, but the spots will not be nearly as competitive as they are for RR2.
Attendance, sign ups, preparations, everything is going to be required a lot more than it has been in the past, so be ready.
